The best and simple PlayDough Recipe: Have Fun with your kids making Homemade Playdough
It's Chill Out Saturday in our Expat Kids in Eindhoven facebook group, every Saturday I will share with you simple activities to do with materials you have at home and have a lot of fun with your kids.
Today I want to share with you a simple recipe to make play dough without cooking.
Before I start I want to tell you a few things about this famous material that the little ones and grown-ups love.
It was around the year 1880 when Franz Kolb, a German pharmacist created PlayDough or plasticine, without knowing that it would become one of the favorite elements to have fun for hours with the family.
Here are some of the benefits of play dough, I'm giving you a few because I'm going to write a special article about it very soon.
- Develops fine motor skills
- Boosts concentration
- Stimulates creativity
- Promotes relaxation
Here I have what I promised, the step by step to make homemade play dough.
2 cups of flour
1 cup of salt
4 tablespoons of oil
1 cup of water
In the bowl we are going to add the 2 cups flour
Then add 1 cup of salt
Add the 4 tablespoons of oil.
Stir well and add a cup of water and continue mixing until the mixture is homogeneous.
Then we move to a counter and knead, here you can add the colouring and continue kneading.
Divide the dough into parts and put it in plastic, let it rest for an hour.
After one hour! Yay!!! it's ready to play, so enjoy with the family.
