Summer Camps 2023

Hello everyone! I'm Nueva Expat Mama and I'm excited to share my picked selections of summer camps happening around Eindhoven in 2023. As an expat parent with our Expat Kids in Eindhoven, I understand that it can be hard to find the best camps to keep them busy while parents can relax a bit during the summer.  So I'll be bringing you the ten best camps in Eindhoven and its surroundings and some summer camps in the country . Let's get started! 3,2,1, Here we GO...

Eindhoven and Surroundings

  • Kika Camp

During the camp the children will be with a group of about ten children of their own age. They will sleep with their group in a big Tipi. They will have one or two supervisors per group. They will make sure they have a good week at camp. And they are also there for when the children feel a bit homesick.

Every day there is a fun programme that fits in completely with the theme of that year's camp. Often we play various games in the forest or on the camp lawn. At other times they go on an exciting trip, or do all kinds of workshops where you learn about everything. Of course, they also have plenty of free time to play football, read a (comic) book or have a nice chat.

The camp has a kitchen team that makes sure they have enough to eat every day. They will eat two sandwiches every day and once a day there is a hot meal. Usually the children eat at the same time. Sometimes they have picnics in the forest. All volunteers have a valid VOG (certificate of conduct).

  • Filmkamp

Filmkamp you can turn your story into your own film in one week. With workshops such as storyboarding, camera and sound techniques, stop motion animation, green screen and editing. You will start with professional equipment. In addition to the film programme, we play games in the forest and dunes, and go to the Efteling. The animators with special knowledge also give short master classes during the different weeks. You will learn, for example, how to act, how to make a report or how to construct a story.

They believe that film can make the world a little more exciting, a little more beautiful or a little more fun. Children are masters at this. Unbridled enthusiasm and an overflowing imagination are the perfect ingredients for making your own film. The film camp aims to offer children aged 9 to 14 a creative, social and stimulating environment where they can work together to make their own story.

  • Pony Camps

They organize pony camps for all levels during the summer holidays, provided when there are enough registrations.

During the pony camp they go horse and pony riding a lot. There are lessons and they also do outdoor rides. They also provide many other activities, such as a campfire, a colorful evening and you stay overnight every night. Participants are divided into groups based on age and experience. In this way they ensure that everyone rides at their own level as much as possible.

  • Kicks n Sticks Camp

Kicks n Sticks has the most amazing camp – it’s like a dream come true for hockey players. It offers the perfect combination: improve your game of hockey in the morning and try other fun sports and activities as well as hockey in the afternoon!

This summer, we are holding great 2-day hockey camps during the summer break for kids aged between 4 and 14 in several locations!

The programme is a cool mix of fun and educational hockey classes, a guest clinic featuring a real hockey star and, of course, splendid camp games. They have divided the camps into two age-related categories to make sure the children learn as much as possible while enjoying themselves as much as possible: ages 4-6 and ages 7-12. The camps start at 9.30 a.m. and finish at 3.30 p.m. To make life easier for parents, the children can be dropped off at 8.30 a.m. and picked up at 4.30 p.m

  • Piroc Summer Camp

Every year, Piroc organizes a great summer camp with many fun, exciting and cool activities for children and young people with a mental and possibly physical disability. At Piroc they work with a theme every year during the camp week. Last year Piroc's theme was fairytales. And it's true what they say... they lived happily ever after! During the Piroc Fairytale Camp, for example, they were able to enjoy a real fairytale ball with champagne, a red carpet and a cool car in our most beautiful outfits. But that wasn't all; of course a trip to the Efteling during a fairytale camp could not be missed! With a fairytale book full of stories and experiences and a smile on our face, we unfortunately had to say goodbye after a beautiful week…

  • De Ster Camp

With a maximum of 31 other children and a group of supervisors the children will go camping for 6 days (the start camp lasts 4 days), in a very cool place in the Netherlands. First they will have a preliminary talk with someone from De Ster to see if the camp suits them and can help them.
During the camp the children do different activities like theatre, games, club, cool games, activities, Corfeesten and chill out, in the camp they work on their own goals. With that you get a lot of practice. As everyone has a goal at the camp, you can help each other. That's usually very good. You have your own mentor, who helps you with the things you want to learn.
In short: going to camp means having a great and fun week, where you also learn a lot of things!

  • Nature Camp

This summer camp will be in Utrecht for children from 8 to 12 years old. In this camp they look for what they can find in nature in terms of colours, shapes, materials and how things work. With that as inspiration, they will photograph, make prints, draw, build and move. Everyone is welcome; you don't have to be "good" at anything! It's all about enjoying exploring and trying new things. There is also time for evening games, looking for animals and plants and sitting by the campfire. Part of the programme is provided by KidzKlix.
